Psalm 21:13

Psalm 21:13

My View From “The Chair” this morning -Psalm 21:13.  As we strolled the piazza a few minutes ago selecting last minute items for our trek to India, a lone musician stood playing and singing.  His music was serindipitous.  His worn guitar case lay open like a hand awaiting a gift for his efforts.  Without a second thought, my Mr. strolls over and makes a contribution.  THIS is just one of many things I love about this man.  His generosity towards those in need is effortless.  In our marriage, we have had little and we have had much and ALWAYS the Lord has supplied.

I know sometimes it’s easy to judge.  I know sometimes it’s easy to make excuses.  I know sometimes it’s easy to ignore, but this scripture is direct, like an arrow piercing it’s target.  You don’s have to give a lot.  It doesn’t even have to be money, but it could. Here are some things that I have picked up over the years that may help you get started:

For Homeless or Panhandlers:
1.  Carry $5 McDonald’s gift cards
2.  Offer to take them into the grocery store of food place and buy them a meal
3.  Keep water bottles, energy bars, or nuts, etc. in lunch sacks in your car to pass out

For Low Income Struggling Families:
1.  Gift cards to grocery stores (any amount helps)
2. Make a basket with quick and easy meal items and leave it on their door (Dollar Store has the perfect size baskets), include an anonymous note of encouragement
3.  Purchase cereal on sale and just drop off three or four boxes on their doorstep

I’m sure you have some great ideas.  Please add them in the comment section so we can all benefit.
