My View From “The Chair” this morning - Exodus 35:10.   I LOVE that God uses artists and those that want to be artists in His Kingdom.  Yesterday, I had the privilege of water coloring with these wonderful ten-year-olds.  Their pictures weren’t perfect, but they took great joy and enjoyment in the process.  I had forgotten just how much fun it was.  I had forgotten that it was okay for it not to turn out like you expected.  I had forgotten just how beautiful even the mistakes are and how you can turn them into something else.

In Genesis, the bible says, "God created" over and over as He made the world and all living things in it.  He took great joy in creating everything, especially us.  He made us in His image.  Since He is a creative guy, it would stand to reason that He likes us to be creative too.  I have to wonder if maybe some of the things He created were not exactly as He had envisioned, so He just laughed and made it into something else.  Okay, I'm thinking about the giraffe. Technically, they shouldn't even be able to stand or bend over without falling over.  It brought God great joy to create the world.  I believe He takes great joy in watching us create also.  Creating doesn't have rules and it's okay if things blur together.  When was the last time you created something?  If it's been a long time, why not pick your pencil or pen up and create a little doodle.  I think you will discover a new sense of joy and God will be delighted that you are creating.
