Basking in the glorious late Spring sun, streaming through the east window, I am snuggled into my purple overstuffed chair. Allowing my eyes to slid shut, I whisper of my thoughts about the coming summer. Running out of words, silence falls between me and my maker. Then He breathes these words into my mind, “Feed the children.” Knowing my propensity to overanalyze these things, I pick up my phone and create a post inviting others to join me.
Sometimes we think we have to go far away or do something new or huge to be His hands and feet to this world. Friends, here is the truth I am continuing to learn, we can easily offer up our everyday lives and resources as intentional offerings for His use. Proverbs 22:9 tells us to feed the poor. This summer, I am inviting you to join me and others in feeding the children of Kitsap County. We will be dropping off bags of food on Thursdays for eight weeks to supplement food sources for the kiddos who receive free or reduced lunches at school. Want to help?
