Proverbs 3:28
My view from "The Chair" this morning - Proverbs 3:28. Sitting in my warm, cozy, little car, I was startled at the tap on my window. Quickly looking out the driver's side, a homeless lady stood there looking at me. She was mouthing something that I couldn't hear because I was busy listening to my worship music. Slowly, I lowered the window while she waited. Her eyes were pleading. Her words were simple, "I'm hungry, can you help me get some food?" I wanted to ignore her, but my heart said, "Feed her." Unlatching my door, I unfolded myself and told her to come with me. Together we walked in and to the deli. When it was her turn to order, I was expecting her to take advantage of me. Much to my surprise, she only ordered fries and a small beverage. I tried to get her to order more, but she insisted that was good. As I returned to my car, I couldn't help but smile and think that sometimes maybe all your neighbor really needs is you to simply say, "Yes." Who is your neighbor and who do you need to say "Yes" to helping? We are God's hands and feet on this planet entrusted with His resources to do His work. Who is your neighbor and who do you need to say "Yes" to helping?
