Saboteur + A Smile = Refreshed Heart
Genetics had gifted her with a smile that could electrify the room. I had personally seen the atmosphere of a room alter when she arrived with that genuine smile. Her eyes were part of the deal. She could make you feel seen across a room full of people. It was a gift that she used daily in our workplace.
It was an accidental, falling into, kind of habit. Most Sunday mornings we both just happened to be at the same coffee shop. Time had woven a beautiful friendship and grace had birthed a mutual bond through pain. Each Sunday after my encounter with her, I leave refreshed. She is a giver of many things, usually tiny, delicate and thoughtfully chosen, just for the recipient, treasures.
This Sunday was no different, she had purposely stopped by a beloved local bakery, waiting in the lengthy line for an extended time to bring me this scrumptious treat. We hugged. We chatted. We savored the moments. I left full and refreshed. I have learned so much from her. She knows how to leave people refreshed. I want to learn more from her. Do you have people in your life that leave you feeling refreshed? How do they do it?
When we live with outward focused arrows, looking for ways to refresh others, we will be refreshed. It is one of the two things we are asked to do by our Father. Love Him and Love others. As Christ’s extremities here on this planet, loving others means looking for ways to refresh them. It is part of His upside down plan. I am wondering if you will join me today in looking for an opportunity to be His hands and feet to someone He puts in front of us? I would enjoy hearing how you walk this out today.
Until We Chat Again,
Crystal
