Life in the Rearview Mirror

Life in the Rearview Mirror

Before my first encounter with this beautiful Romanian soul, I had not known much about Romania or the beautiful people who reside there. In my Creator’s infinite wisdom, He intersected our paths years ago and established a deep friendship. Often over the years, I have wondered how she was and what she was doing. Oddly, it seems that at some crucial moments throughout these last twenty plus years, God has randomly intercepted our paths again. Each time we have bumped into each other and quickly caught up, only to have time and space pull us apart again. Two weeks ago, she became an integral part of helping to care for my parents. She loves them like a daughter and goes out of her way to assist with whatever is needed. I am grateful for the gift of her. If you would’ve told me that God was laying the groundwork for this twenty years ago, I would’ve laughed. Now though, I can see how she is a perfect fit for them and an already loved friend for me. I love that He has an untangled view of our lives.

Rearview mirrors are essential for establishing a heart of gratitude. Without a rearview mirror, It would be impossible to see how our Father has orchestrated our lives. Without rearview mirrors we would not be able to see the intricateness and magnitude of God’s plans in our daily lives.

This morning, as I created a mental list of all the big and little ways I am blessed, she was at the top. He knew that long ago when He crossed our lives the first time, that at this crucial point in life, she would be like family. As you stop to ponder the incredible ways you are blessed, ask our Creator to show you people and circumstances that He planned long ago, just for now. Go ahead and look in the rearview mirror.

Truly, the fingerprints of God are best observed in the rearview mirror of life.

Until We Chat Again,
Crystal
