Cravings! - Ephesians 4:29
Cravings can be unbearable. I remember being pregnant and craving steak. It was completely overwhelming and I wanted it for every meal. Okay, I know that is strange, but I was probably lacking some vitamin. There have been other seasons when I crave sugar. Now, I can see most of you smiling! I have found many of my cravings difficult to manage. Anyone else? When I think about cravings, I usually think about food. But I think we, as humans, crave something else too.
We crave encouragement. It such a simple thing and anyone can do it. A simple positive phrase about something you noticed someone doing. A kind word about a job well-done or a personal characteristic you appreciate. An inspirational comment about their effort. You get the picture. These kind of encounters leave a pleasant aroma with the recipient and stokes the internal fire of hope and motivation. Stop with me and think for a moment about the last time someone used their words to encourage you. It can truly change the trajectory of your day.
Will you join me in finding at least five ways to use your words to encourage others each day this month? You might be surprised at how they respond and how it changes your day too. I would love to hear about any encounters you have that would encourage others. Please leave in the comments.
