Proverbs 16:33

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Proverbs 16:33.  Ever feel like you don't know what to do and maybe you should just "Roll the dice"?  Yep, me too!  Sometimes  I have felt like both paths in front of me have equal amounts of good and bad to them.  Anyone else ever feel this way?

Psalm 37:23

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Psalm 37:23.  Do you know that our Creator takes HUGE delight in every detail of our lives?  He has an untangled view of our life.  I like to think of my life in terms of a large tapestry that He is stitching.  My "view" is positioned from below the tapestry.  It is an incomplete view because I can only see the underside of His magnificent work.  When I allow myself to really look up, all I see is large amounts of loose ends; knotted strings; and tangled masses of threads.

Proverbs 14:30

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Proverbs 14:30.  Want to know something?  I never thought I would struggle with jealousy, but over these last nine months it has been my unwanted companion in one form or another.  It has been one of Satan's best tricks.  When it started, I named it all kinds of things - annoyance; frustration; unfairness; dislike; etc.  I couldn't figure out why my normally peaceful heart was anxiety-filled and mad whenever this person came around. I wanted to blame the person that I thought

James 3:26

My View From "The Chair" this morning - James 3:26.
Faith + Good Works = An Outward-Focused & Contentment-Filled Life  Who doesn't desire that?  Today, may we see the opportunities

Psalm 119:18

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Psalm 119:18.  We all want timeless truth.  I often enjoy many quotes and sayings that I come across and some of them are completely true.  Others of them, when I really dig into their meaning, are what I call "Coffee Table Theology".

Psalm 68:19

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Psalm 68:19.  He carries us!  Let me say that again, "He carries us!"  I know for myself, sometimes it's in His arms and other times it's on His shoulders but the truth is, "He carries us!"  Today, let's savor this reality.

Jonah 3:1,2

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Jonah 3:1,2.  Can I just be real?  I really identify with Jonah.  I passionately love God but sometimes I just want to use "Selective" hearing, especially if it is a difficult assignment.  I am embarrassed to admit it, but I have even been known to pull a "Jonah" and hightail it in the opposite direction

John 8:4-7

My View From "The Chair" this morning - John 8:4-7.  I LOVE this rock!  Maybe it's because I really think I could be a mermaid or maybe it's because it was a gift from a wonderful friend.  It's probably both.  However, this rock sits on my desk as a visual reminder that I don't get to be the judge of others.

Matthew 7:24

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Matthew 7:24.  Rock painting is all the rage where I live.  People paint rocks and hide them for strangers to find.  When you find them, you take a picture and post them to a local website and then re-hide them.  Anyone ever done this?  Today, I discovered this rock.

Psalm 104:33

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Psalm 104:33.  Does your brain ever get stuck?  My brain often gets stuck on certain songs.  I guess it doesn't help when I replay the song 140 times - lol!

Psalm 42:1,2

The view from "My Chair" this morning - Psalm 42:1,2.  Thirst is a wicked thing.  It overtakes your senses until all you can do is think about getting water and quenching that desire!  Deer pant for water when they are too hot.  It becomes an all consuming drive to find a stream and drink.  This is the same overtaking desire that the psalmist is expressing here.

Psalm 149:3

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Psalm 149:3.  I  adore the fact that there are so many ways to express my love and gratefulness to the Lord.  Want to know a little secret?

Ecclesiastes 3:4

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Ecclesiastes 3:4.  LIfe is full of seasons.  If I am brave and allow others into my real life, I get the pleasure and support of sharing both the laughter and the tears .  Isn't that what we really all want?

Psalm 40:2

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Psalm 40:2.  Ever feel like no matter what you do, the earth below you is quicksand and you are slowly sinking?  Sometimes life feels a little crazy like that.  These words are His promise to you and me!   If we look to Him for help, He will set our feet on solid terra firma. THIS is good news.  Friends, this means we will NOT sink,

Romans 8:38,39

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Romans 8:38,39.  Look!  Look!  Look!  I read this over and over and over this morning.  Honestly, I am blown away at the truth right here in front of me.  I've read it before.  In fact, if I was honest, I've read it many, many times but today it reached out and literally grabbed me.

Ecclesiastes 7:13

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Ecclesiastes 7:13.  Even though I know better, I often try to "Straighten" things out in my life.  It must be my human tendency to want things congruent, straight and inline.  Life just isn't like that.  I think God knew when the fall happened that we would forever be wanting to "Straighten" things out.  Things like: Our path;  Our story;  Our experiences.  We would want control.

Copy of Psalm 23:4

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Psalm 23:4.  Maybe your valley doesn't literally have dinosaurs roaring, but it might feel like it.  If you are anything like me, in those moments you might be tempted to "tuck your tail and run".  Here are the two repetitive lines I preach to myself,

Copy of Psalm 25:4,5

The view from "My Chair" this morning - Psalm 25:4,5.  Do you ever wonder, "What am I suppose to be doing?  What path is right for me?"  Often I have these conversations in my head.  Anyone else do this?  While reading this, a light bulb exploded inside my cranium...
